HUD:Your Housing Cuts Are Toying with the Lives of Families

Imagine having found the home of your dreams, only to have the keys snatched out of your fingers! That is what’s happening to 900 families in Houston. That’s because HUD has ordered the Houston Housing Authority (HHA) to take back the housing vouchers these families had been promised.

Yet, while the Trump administration is slashing HUD’s budget by $6 billion, they are scheming to give the top 1% a trillion dollar tax break. The result? Nine hundred of Houston’s most at risk families are watching their chance at stability go up in smoke. Now, instead of climbing up the ladder, they risk sliding down it.

Trump’s Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Ben Carson, has taken a surgical knife to the hopes of thousands of people who once thought they were one step closer to escaping poverty.
