The petition of the undersigned citizens of the World calls for a ban to the Australian greyhound industry on the basis that:
• Between 13,000 and 17,000 healthy young dogs are killed each year by the greyhound racing industry in Australia.
• The industry has failed to reform in any meaningful way to stop the routine mistreatment of animals.
• Dogs are being exported to jurisdictions with no animal welfare protections, including Macau, where they are subject to poor living conditions, risk of serious injury and almost certain death.
• Greyhound racing is a poor employment generator and its continuation at significant taxpayer expense is inconsistent with the public interest.
The petitioners below call on the Australian government to:
• ban all greyhound racing in All Australian states.
• Use the assets currently held by the industry to fund more interesting and better things to race... like robots, remote controlled cars, people, cars... PRETTY MUCH ANYTHING BUT ANIMALS!

Thank you everyone who has recently signed!
I'm excited to see which state will be the next one after New South Wales to ban dog racing too!
Dogs should be racing around our back yards chasing tennis balls and Frisbees!

One week in, and 1000 wonderful people have expressed their disgust with animal abuse and put forward their support in stopping this travesty!
But We need more help! Anyone who can put this petitions link in a Facebook or Twitter post will be making the next 9000 signatures happen faster and really help show the Australian Government that the people of the Earth love Dogs!!!

After ONLY a couple of days, we are over 700 signatures!!!
I am so impressed that people are going to be able to look back in the future and be able to say- “People used to use dogs for gambling and abuse them when I was a kid… and I was one of the people that helped STOP it in 2016!”
Please go onto your Facebook and Twitter, etc. and help get everyone you know to sign too!
