'Friendly Room' Facilities for Breastfed and Bottle Fed Babies in St. Helens

There is no comfortable space for mothers (and other caregivers) to breast or bottle feed in my local town centre, St Helens. Mothers like me are having to feed their babies in changing rooms and toilets. A simple room with comfortable seating, water, a bin, a changing mat, and most importantly the company and support of other parents, would make such a huge difference to so many mothers. Please sign this petition to demand an appropriate space where mothers can feed our babies with ease and comfort.

It is a constant struggle for mothers to find a suitable breastfeeding friendly place in St. Helens. This can severely limit our access to normal daily life. There are many bottle feeding friendly places but not every baby wants to take a bottle, not every mother wants to give a bottle, and not every baby decides to have their meals in these unpleasant places. Not everyone can afford to go and sit in cafe or restaurant every time they need to feed their baby.

Hopefully St. Helens council can rectify the lack of places available to mothers and provide somewhere everybody could be aware of where they can speak to other mums and not feel negatively pressurised to hurry. Please sign this petition and demand appropriate facilities for mothers with feeding their babies.
