We Deserve U.S. Reserves Pay and VA Disability Compensation Pay

Please support us. If we serve in the US Reserves we should be paid for it and not just receive points if we are receiving pay from disability compensation from active duty. If you are U.S. Military Reserves who used to be in active duty and receive Veteran Affairs Disability Compensation and are going through a hardship due to finding out after hand regarding the prohibition against duplication of benefits and payment of certain reserves while on duty, then you should sign this petition.
Let’s make some buzz and help congress consider changing this law.
I believe if you are 30% or below disabled and are receiving VA Disability Compensation pay that you should still be able to serve in the U.S Reserves and be paid for it and not just collect points. I am a 20% disabled veteran. I consider myself a hard worker, go getter, and I recently turned down to accept Warrant Officer School and not continue serving in the U.S. Army Reserves. I received a letter from the VA asking how many months I drilled this year (and other years) and asked to repay them. I was shocked. I researched the internet and found it true. As much as I would like to serve my full 20 years I choose to collect my VA Disability compensation pay instead. I don’t have to go anywhere. I don’t have to drive 2-3 hours and waste gas. I do completely nothing.
I can’t help but think how many other good soldiers are choosing the same as me. I believe we are losing many great military leaders because of this law. If I was hurt during active duty and am rightfully receiving disability compensation pay for that I should be able to still serve in the Reserves and be paid separately. If you are for this law to be changed in the future and in hopes for back pay from this wrongful law please share this petition on Facebook and all social media.
