This 79 year old is facing forced removal from the UK by the Home Office

Please help me. I'm at my wit's end. My soon to be 80 year old South African mum is at risk of being removed by the Home Office because her Indefinite Leave to Remain visa has been rejected.

Carolyn Hirst has been living with me, her 41 year old British daughter and family for over five years in rural mid Wales. She came over with my British father to whom she has been married to for the last 44 years, following a vicious attack on them in their home in South Africa. We had agreed that being with us was the best course of action as the worry and stress was getting to them both, having suffered ever increasing levels of crime.

She is even derived from three British grand parents! She does not rely on any government funding, and therefore no drain on the UK's benefit system and taxpayers contributions. Our local MP has taken up the case and says the decision is cruel and unjustified.

I'd urge you to please sign and share this petition to support keeping my mum with us as part of our family in the UK. Over the last few years we have seen the worry of living in fear lift, and be replaced by someone who is relaxed around those she knows really care for her. To send her back to South Africa, away from her husband and family, into a situation that caused great anxiety and stress, with no home nor belongings, would be detrimental to her at her age.

Had notice this week that the HO is reconsidering application but have been told that the result could come back the same. Since this notice we have received the tribunal paperwork so there is a bit of confusion. Are the reconsidering, or have they reconsidered & still progressing with the appeal after another rejection? Our local MP's office have contacted the HO & we are awaiting clarity from them. If every person who has signed can get one more person to do the same we have hit our target. X
