Close the Tap on America’s Poisonous Water Supplies

You could be drinking 70 times the recommended limit of a cancer-causing toxin. PFCs, a highly fluorinated toxic chemical, have been linked to diseases like cancer, kidney failure, thyroid problems, and weakened immune systems. The toxins have been found in the water supplies of 27 states.

PFCs were produced by companies like 3M and Dupont when they manufactured some of their most famous products. From there they seeped into our water supplies waiting for an unsuspecting person to turn on the tap and take a drink.

There are currently no federal regulations on PFCs although the Environmental Protection Agency currently sets guidelines that state that no water source supplying above 10,000 people should contain more than 70 parts per trillion. Yet, Harvard scientists who've studied the substance say anything more than one part per trillion is too much.

It seems that just as President Trump's proposed budget wants to weaken the Environmental Protection Agency, we need it more than ever. The EPA has a duty to protect us from life threatening chemicals in our drinking supply, and studies show that PFCs are just that.

It's time to ask the EPA to do its job and get serious about the health of America's water supplies. Sign the petition and ask the EPA to reduce the permissible limit of cancer-causing PFCs in America's water supplies to one part per trillion today.

Dear Mr.Pruitt ,

The recent shocking study has revealed that our water supplies are not as safe as previously thought. PFCs currently have no federal controls yet they pose a great danger to our the health of more than 15 million Americans.  Experts say the EPA allows 70 times the healthy limit of the substance. Please take the risk out of our water sources, reduce the recommended limit of PFCs in our water!
