Email David Cameron to ask him to help resettle refugees

For more than four years, millions of Syrians have been on the run from war. More than four million people have fled the country's borders and another 7.5 million have been displaced within Syria.

This year, Europe experienced an upsurge in refugees and asylum seeking applications with thousands of people arriving on Europe's shores every day.

More than two-thirds of these refugees are between the ages of 14 and 34. Young people with their lives stretched out in front of them are risking their lives making the dangerous journey to Europe.

They are coming because they have given up hope of a decent life in their home countries or in impoverished refugee camps. They will risk anything to get here and they will continue to come as the Syrian crisis worsens.

Sign now to ask David Cameron to work with world leaders to better share the responsibility for resettling refugees. In doing so, they can help to reduce the dangerous journeys being made to Europe by desperate people fleeing war-torn countries and impoverished refugee camps.

Dear Prime Minister,

Young people with their lives stretched out in front of them are dying as they make the dangerous journey to Europe. They are coming because they have given up hope of a decent life in their countries or in impoverished refugee camps.

You and other world leaders can help by providing refugees with genuine alternatives for a long-term future. It is good that the UK is accepting 20,000 refugees, but more is needed.

We call on you to work with your counterparts in Europe, North America, Asia, Latin America and the Pacific to agree a global comprehensive plan of action and share responsibility for resettling significant numbers of refugees.

The Syrian conflict must end, but until you and other world leaders reach a political solution to the crisis, we must do more to stop young people from losing their lives and their hope.

Sincerely,
