On Sunday 23rd July I flew from Belfast to Ibiza on Jet2 airline for a much needed four night break. On landing at Ibiza airport,
I discovered that my wheelchair had been completely wrecked in transit. The whole frame of the chair had been completely bent with the front wheels touching the back wheels.
I managed with difficulty to get to my hotel where I have had to spend most of my holiday and many of the activities I had planned were abandoned due to the damage done to my wheelchair. It took two days for me to receive a call from Jet2 when in Ibiza.
Jet2 airlines left me stranded with no assistance or acknowledgement of the challenges that I was facing. Since arriving back in Belfast, Jet2 has offered an apology and only £1,207 in compensation towards the
£4,000 cost of a replacement wheelchair, which must be custom built for my needs. I cannot afford to make up the difference myself.
Furthermore, Jet2 has offered absolutely nothing towards the holiday that was ruined due to their airline's negligence.Please sign my petition to demand that
the cost of my new wheelchair is covered by Jet2 airlines and Jet2 provide a
refund for the holiday which was ruined. Other airlines including British Airways have promptly paid for wheelchairs in exactly the same circumstances with no issue - why can Jet2 not do the same? Follow my story for the latest updates at http://www.facebook.com/criscodj
