Youth dance is a growing sport for both girls and boys across genres. It would make a significant impact on these kids to allow them to participate in their chosen sport in high school and have the chance to earn a varsity letter. Dance is an extremely time consuming sport with a high degree of physical training. This time commitment prevents these kids from participating in most other high school sports. It's time to bring dance to the high school as a recognized sport/club.
Most of these kids are excellent time managers due to their rehearsal schedules which can be 10+ hours per week. Because of their demanding schedule, most of these kids are excellent students and should have the opportunity to participate in their chosen sport in high school.
Please sign this petition if you have a student who would try out for the Stow-Munroe Falls Dance Team if given the opportunity, or you support our efforts to bring dance to SMFHS. We have a list of qualifications to meet, so please provide all requested information, and note which studio your child attends in the comments area. We need to show a significant interest to make this a reality for our kids.
Bring DANCE to Stow-Munroe Falls High School!
We are a group of volunteers from the local dance studios who are working to bring a dance team to SMFHS. There are many qualifications we need to meet, including a demonstration of interest among both girls and boys either currently at the high school, or attending in the future.
