There has been major concerns regarding the opening of the Phuket Dolphinarium in southern Thailand, including an outcry from the public. Even the children of the area are raising their voices after they witnessed first-hand what really happens at these dolphin hunts. These youngsters even spoke to audiences of officials and businessmen with their concerns regarding the Dolphinarium.
Now that the facility is improved according to required specifications with appropriate license, the only thing lift is for the approval of the import of the stars of the show: eight Dolphins and two seals from the Ukraine, five of the dolphins were originally captured from the wild in the Taiji’s controversial hunt. It is sad and a moral issue that these dolphins should not be subjected to human entertainment.
The public is concern about the animal welfare issues and feel that it is much better to see these dolphins living happily in their natural, wild habitat rather than trying to perform for human pleasure. We want to encourage the management of this facility not to open the Phuket Dolphinarium in southern Thailand which would subject these poor animals to an unnatural environment.
