Make all government contractors accountable.

Any attempt to cut or limit funds to Acorn in isolation is nothing more than a political tool of the right.  Any funding cuts to Acorn should come from an objective bipartisan bill to curb waste, fraud, and abuse by ALL government contractors.  We find any member of the house or senate who voted to defund Acorn but who fail to vote for the "Against Corporations Organizing to Rip-off the Nation Act", or ACORN, corrupt and unworthy of reelection.  The acorn act sponsored by Reps. Betty McCollum (Minn.), Raul Grijalva (Ariz.), David Obey (Wis.), Pete Stark (Calif.), Keith Ellison (Minn.), Lynn Woolsey (Calif.), Jim McDermott (Wash.) and Barbara Lee (Calif.) holds all private companies, nonprofits and other groups that have been convicted of defrauding the government accountable by cutting off funding to these groups.  Failure to vote for the acorn act in the house, and to introduce and pass a similar bill in the senate indicates that politicians don't actually care about the integrity of government contractors.  Failure to vote for the acorn act and to introduce such an act in the senate is, therefore, a litmus test for worthiness of office.  Signatories of this petition will use this issue to determine whether they will vote for their incumbent senators and representatives.
