Tell Wal-Mart to Support America

We are looking to convince Wal-Mart to promote a more patriotic attitude and not encourage or contribute to the current anti-Bush sentiment that is currently plaguing this country. It is a simple, small step that we are asking Wal-Mart to take; either stop selling the offensive anti-Bush calendars or at a bare minimum sell pro-American, pro-military or simply Patriotic calendars alongside the anti-Bush ones.

Please read the target letter to Wal-Mart CEO Lee Scott, and sign the petition if you agree with our request. Help us tell Wal-Mart that American Pride is important to the people of this Nation!
During a recent shopping trip to a local Wal-Mart store I made an interesting and very disturbing discovery. While browsing through the 2008 calendar selection, I ran across a calendar titled "The 2008 George W Bush Out of Office Countdown" which proudly stated "2008 through the glorious end (January 20th, 2009)" as the tagline across the top. I found this calendar particularly offensive not only because I am a proud veteran and a supporter of our President, but also because the calendar seemed to be in very poor taste.

However, the worst offense came from the fact that with four rotating racks of calendars, each four slots high, 16 racks in all (64 different calendars) there was not one single pro-American, pro-military or simply American Pride/Patriotic calendar. There were plenty of cartoons, exotic cars, women in bikinis and tractors, but there wasn't one calendar that I could hang on my wall that displayed my Patriotic Pride. Yet, there was a distasteful calendar bashing our President.

Mr. Scott, we the undersigned ask that this issue be resolved by either removing the offensive calendars from the shelves of your stores or working to ensure that there are other calendars made available that support American pride. As it stands right now, it appears to myself and others that Wal-Mart stores are supporting the degradation of our standing President, which is wholly unacceptable.

Mr. Scott, we the undersigned ask that you do the right thing instead of the seemingly popular thing by showing patriotism and support towards this country and its president rather than contributing to the animosity and ill feelings that seem to be plaguing the people of this great nation.

Thank you for your consideration of our request. We look forward to a response on this matter and hope you chose to do the right thing.
