Over the last six-teen months alone in the city of Philadelphia six Police Officers have been fatally injured on the job, most of which came from Ex-convict's with parole's from prison. This petition's goal is to ban parole for ex-convicts in the states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware until the violence against Police Officers stop. The system here in Philadelphia is not working and soon it will be spreading to other counties, town's and maybe even other states. As a family member of a Philadelphia Police Officer my concern goes out for these Ladies and Gentlemen that go out there and put their own lives on the line for the sake of sanity and a good sense of judgment. These criminals need to be stopped and by the signing of this petition, this is a start to a new Philadelphia and a new way the system can work.
February 13, 2009: Philadelphia police officer John Pawlowski was shot and killed in the Olney section of the city.
November 17, 2008: A Philadelphia police officer, Sgt. Timothy Simpson, is killed in a crash with a suspected drunk driver while responding to a call
September 23, 2008: Two Philadelphia Highway Patrol officers are shot in North Philadelphia. One of them, Officer Patrick McDonald, is killed. At least one suspect is shot and killed. McDonald would later be posthumously promoted to sergeant.
September 5, 2008: Officer Isabel Nazario was killed when her police cruiser was involved in a crash with an SUV that was being chased by police.
May 3, 2008: Officer Stephen Liczbinski is shot and killed while in pursuit of a suspect from a bank robbery.
October 31, 2007: Officer Chuck Cassidy shot and killed when he walked in on a robbery at a West Oak Lane Dunkin Donuts.
October 30, 2007: Officer Mariano Santiago shot in the shoulder in Center City.
October 28, 2007: Officer Sandra Van Hinkel wounded in the leg in a shootout in University City.
September 24, 2007: Rookie Officer Richard Decoatsworth shot in the face at a traffic stop in West Philadelphia.
May 8th, 2006: Officer Gary Skerski killed when a lone gunman robbed Pat's café in Northeast Philadelphia.
