Say No to Yulin Dog Meat Festival. Dogs are Best Friends. Not Food.

Dear Honorable Mr. Wang Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs in China:

While China's economy booms and its status as a world leader takes on new significance, the world looks on in horror as it continues to permit the cruel and backward Yulin Dog Eating Festival each June.
The heinous Yulin Dog Eating Festival puts a big stain on China's otherwise beautiful aged old culture. As one California woman observed, "I forgot every spectacular presentation that I saw at the Beijing Olympics opening and closing ceremonies and only remember the miserable photos I saw from the Yulin Dog Eating Festival."

We urge the Chinese government to take a stand against this year’s Yulin Dog Eating Festival and end it. The act of stopping the needless torture and killing of 10,000 dogs would be recognized internationally as a good-will gesture by Chinese officials for their commitment to joining the rest of the world in ending the dog meat trade.

As a signatory to this petition, I look forward to witnessing China's continued progress toward a more modern and humane society.
