*********************Updated Statement**********************
Please sign this petition in support of Greenhill Humane Society (Greenhill) and Lane County Animal Regulation Authority (LCARA) Saving Adoptable and Treatable Animals.
In the recent past, animals were not treated humanely either at LCARA or at Greenhill (See http://neverforgetjlo.blogspot.com/). We are very encouraged by the changes proposed by Greenhill's new Executive Director and the Mandates passed by our Lane County Commissioners to end the killing of adoptable and treatable animals at LCARA.
Add your signature to let them know that the Community supports and demands these changes sooner rather than later to stop the killing of adoptable and treatable animals.
While Greenhill and LCARA are needed in our community and do some good things, we need to let them know that we are not okay with any further killing of Adoptable and Treatable Animals.
Euthanasia: (Gr, "easy death") the act or practice of killing individuals (as persons or domestic animals) that are hopelessly sick or injured for reasons of mercy.
Petition Statement: We, the undersigned, feel that it is time for Greenhill Humane Society (Greenhill) and Lane County Animal Regulation Authority (LCARA) to stop the killing of any and all ADOPTABLE and TREATABLE homeless animals. We, as a community, will no longer accept excuses or falsification of the outcome for any animal, and how they are treated while in the care of these facilities. We insist on transparency in all functions and full disclosure of any and all animals killed, with proof of a qualified, independent and unbiased professional evaluation.
This petition will be presented to the Greenhill Board of Directors, their Senior Management, Lane County Health & Human Services and Lane County Board of Commissioners.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and to listen to your community. We are ready to work with both organizations to help implement these changes and hope to, very soon, find them willing to work with us.
