New & Fair Trial for Mumia Abu-Jamal

Target:
United States Supreme Court
MUMIA ABU-JAMAL IS INNOCENT!!!! Mumia has yet to receive a fair trial. His original trial was a total travesty of justice, filled with lies, police coercion of witnesses, judicial bias, racism, politics, and an incompetent, inexperienced defense attorney. The true facts of this case prove Mumia's innocence, but because of Mumia's outspoken criticism of the corruption in the Philadelphia police force, and of injustice everywhere, Mumia was framed for a murder he did not commit. The time is long overdue to right this great wrong. FREEDOM AND JUSTICE FOR MUMIA!!!

Mumia Abu-Jamal never received a fair trial. His trial was a total travesty of justice, filled with lies, police coercion of witnesses, judicial bias, and an incompetent, inexperienced defense attorney. When the presiding judge over Mumia's trial says Yeah, and I'm going to help them fry the ni**er, and the DAs office intentionally excludes blacks from the jury, and the prosecutor's instructions to the jury were to convince them to vote for the death penalty because Mumia would have appeal after appeal, thereby lessening the seriousness of their role in deciding life or death for Mumia, when Mumia was not even allowed at his own trial, and when racism and politics were the key motivating factors throughout the trial ... Mumia never had any chance of a fair trial (or subsequent hearings). The time is long overdue to right this great wrong. MUMIA ABU-JAMAL DESERVES A NEW AND FAIR TRIAL! Mumia's original trial and subsequent PCRA hearing never had the slightest semblance of justice. Mumia should be allowed to present ALL the facts of this case to a jury of his peers, without judicial or prosecutorial bias & racism, as the US Constitution says he should.

Too many trials of injustice have done, but now it is time for justice to prevail over all of the evil many unfortunate victims have been put through.

Pray,Spread the word

I think it's appalling that even in so called modern society that someone who is obviously innocent is considered guilty with no recourse. I was recently a Juror on a murder trial where all the evidence was circumstancial and when we found him not guilty. The Judge wanted to know why and questioned our decision. This turned me off to the judicial system where you are guilty unless proven otherwise and even then. if the court wants you guilty then you will be.

Unfortunately, I am poor but what I do is spread his knowledge by word of mouth.

Please remember that the life of a human is at stake here! failure to grant a new trial WILL result in the death of a man that may be, in fact, INNOCENT! we cannot humanely allow this to happen. Have a heart please. You are human also I guess? Imagine if this were you.

When I was a young punk rocker, I was moved by Mumia's story. After studying as thoroughly as I could. The fact that this man is still imprisoned is an atrocity, and it makes me embarrassed to be human. A few years ago before I got sober, I thought I would write to Mumia and tell him of the inspiration he is to fighters around the world and to me personally as a writer. This wonderfully compassionate man, while in a fight for his life and while writing not only his own case but also injustice world wide, took the time to respond to me. That letter was such an inspiration to me. Today I am sober and I have found ways to positively impact and aide my community. I have had the honor and privilege of starting Dharma Punx Boston, a punk rock/rebellion driven Buddhist meditation group. I could only pray to be able to have the impact on anyone as Mumia did, and therefore my whole family and the small world around me. FREE MUMIA!!! May all beings find freedom from suffering.

I will do anything within my limits, from handout flyers, write poetry, write songs, guerrilla flyering, ANYTHING to educate the masses so as to raise the roar of our voices.

I think that the injustice involved with his incarceration is consistent with the racism, classism, and overall hypocritical views of the "criminal justice" system that this country relies on so heavily for padded resumes, monetary gain and the promotion of ego-maniacal prosecutors and judges.

Mumia is a positive figure for our community today. The injustices that he has endured for over a quarter of a century is unfair to say to the least. There has now been a confession made by the Shooter of the officer and I feel that if justice is truly to be served Mumia Abu Jamal should be a free man.

There are many ways that I will help brotha Mumia. I will support his writings, buy some merchandise so that the proceeds go towards his legal fees. I will also spread the word on this brothers struggles to gain freedom.

I've just read Soledad Brother by George Jackson. I've known for years that the judicial system is a biased and racist system that targets African and Native American people specifically. I've been a target of this harassment and abuse. I am in amazement at the strenght of people like George Jackson and Mumia along with the thousands of others who are in prison today because of the color of their skin and or their belief in freedom and the courage to express that freedom through physical means and intellectual means. Power to the people! J.C.

The case of Mumia Abu-Jamal - an inspiration for the proponents of justice all over the world - should be known to those in the highest levels of power. Mumia's continued perseverence and productivity from behind bars proves that he has as much, if not more, of a right to live than any of us living free. The planned execution of Mumia is nothing more than a symbolic message that 'justice' is defined by, and for, the state - for its self-perpetuation.

Regardless of political leanings, opinions, or cultural ethnicity, the incarceration of Mumia Abu-Jamal is illegal, unfair, and very un-American. We must bring humanity and empathy to The United States of America and fight for justice and for the suffering.

I can volunteer and participate in events.

This man's future is in the hands of the people that placed him in prison to begin with. Unless something changes in this state of government oppression this kind of torture will continue. Do something to help, see the truth, open your eyes and stop buying what there selling! If things like this go unchecked it will get worse and someday will be someone YOU know, and love and you wont be able to do anything about it.Stand up and fight before its to late.

I have been closely involved in a case where 3 young black men were imprisoned for over 2 years for a crime they did not commit. I saw how racism permeated every aspect of the case. There was not a single black jury member, which in no way represents the city's community. Eventually the case collapsed through lack of evidence. As well as 2 years of his life, my friend lost his home, his job and the college course he was doing. Despite having no criminal record,he was put back on the street with nothing and no chance of compensation. Luckily he still had the support of a loving family. How many other cases are miscarriages of justice based on fabricated evidence and racist prejudices? How much worse was it 25 years ago? The injustices of the past need to be addressed if there is to be any justice in the present.

Mumia Abu-Jamal has touched me, and started the internal revolution of a "street soldier" for the next revolutionary war... the war to free this man. After hearing him on Immortal Techniques albums, and hearing him from prison radio, his words seem to hit a new chord within me.

Respect the man, write to the courts, and demand fair trials. there may never be enough letters, and may never much more of an impact than a laugh or annoyance, but will at least take up the mailbox space of the racist men in PA

Mumia case shows for what democracy, I mean the rulling class democracy, serves. I think Mumia Abu-Jamal is a symbol of resistence for those who lost hope in this years of of neoliberalism. I hope that the Crisis of Superproduction makes the people reminds of the revolutionaries and that the only way is to organise.

I can divulgate notices and materials, and maybe something else.
