Indoor SKATE PARK

The children of Middlesex are riding bikes, and skateboards ,in dangerous locations just to have a place to ride their bikes, the kids are in danger by riding in parking lots, and endangering the drivers that are trying to drive through without hitting the kids. These kids are only trying to find a place to enjoy biking and skating but have no where to go, In attempt to help the kids have a place to go to enjoy what is also known as a sport, I'm asking that we can build and make a skatepark in the boro so that they have a safe place to go. The children will be in a safe place , off the streets, and out of trouble. It will also allow the police of our Boro more time to patrol the streets and focus their time on necessary situations rather than burdening them with calls from parking lots that are wanting the kids removed and out of danger. Instead we have our Police caught up in useless time chasing the children to safer places which only tells us these kids need a place to go and enjkoy their sport as well as the ones that play organized sports. We have enough property across the street from the police station to focus on building an Indoor Skate park for our Children. I'm asking not only for my children but for the safety of all our children in this town.

We the undersigned, would greatly appreciate if you would take the time to consider an Indoor Skate Park for our children of the Boro. I have watched the children of Middlesex ride bikes and skateboards through the town looking for a place to go just to enjoy a sport that they are so dedicated to , they are in parking lots, that is dangerous for them as well as the drivers, they have no place to go to be safe and ride their bikes, or skateboards. Also our police department has a million calls from many people in the boro asking them to please get the kids out of parking lots, off the streets and in a safe place away from being hit by a car. I understand the many benefits that would come from having a Skatepark built for the children , it would keep our kids off the streets, out of trouble, and give them a place to learn responsibility, respect, and learn goals. With each child their are goals they have to riding and learning new things, they are so dedicated to putting their hearts and souls into this sport as well as any child that plays baseball, or even football. I grew up in Edison NJ where I went to school with a boy that rode a skateboard everyday, well he had goals and determination his name is Michael Valley,  He too was like these kids, he wanted a place to just take time to put his sport to good use and have a place to ride, well today this man is a famous skateboarder that knew and understood what he wanted bas a child to be creative in his sport but also had no where to go to accomplish it as well , when Michael Valley became famous he built the skatepark in the police department for the kids that had this same goal, and time and effort he once had but had no place to go to to this so he took that time to give the kids of Edison the gift he only wished for as a kid. What I'm trying to tell you is , to many of us these kids riding bikes and skateboards is useless to us, yet in each of them there may be a Michael Valley waiting to be allowed that goal or dream to come true. Biking and skating is a sport just like baseball or football yet there's no place for the kids to have their sport  time and exercise.  I have talked to many of the kids in this town and they are so eager to have a skatepark that they are willing to volunteer their time to building maintaining, and taking care of the skatepark . I understand that you would think its gonna bring problems but not if you allow  everyone that wants it to volunteer their time in building it and caring for it. If you allow the kids to put time into it they wouldn't want to destroy what they worked so hard on in building so that they can have a place to go to get them off the streets, out of danger from parking lots, and also it may benefoit them in learning to be respectful because it is theirs that they built and put time and effort into. I ask that the parents and kids in Middlesex be given that consideration so that there is a place for the bikers and skaters to release their energy, allow their dreams to come true , and practice what they feel is a place for their sport. I have taken many of the kids to Edison Skate park and watched them enjoy the park , I have seen positive results from my experience of the kids being there, and it allows them to meet new people with the same sport interest as them. I also feel that the police in Middlesex would be able to patrol the streets for necessary issues without having to be called numerous times because children are lost for a place to go just to enjoy biking. It allows the police time for the emergencies that need true attention. Our police officers are working hard to keep the kids and drivers safe but if they had a place to go and enjoy biking and skating it would benefit everyone in the town. I'm asking that if I can get donations and volunteers to make this happen , and the children of Middlesex, to put their tome into building this, I wouldn't see a problem with worrying that they would destroy it. I feel they really want this and why shouldn't our children have a place to go to enjoy their choice of sport? I feel it will keep them off the streets , out of trouble and give these children a new found respect for their town, a new way of learning responsibility by volunteering their time in the project of accomplishing their very own skate park, and also it can help them achieve their goals  as well as make some of their dreams come true . I have two sons that are more than willing to help out and volunteer their time to build this , and in each their hearts I find a dedication to having something for everyone to build and what you build you would not destroy. There wouldn't be a worry of the kids destroying what their hearts desire. This will bring the peace of mind that each of us deserves knowing our children are somewher safe riding their bikes and skateboards, I will ask for donations, and volunteers to make this happen but I am hoping that for the children of our town that they be given a place of their own for their sporting interests, which can make a better person out of all of them. All the kids are not safe in parking lots, on the streets, and riding all over town looking for a place just to ride, why would any of us parents want a phone call that one of our children were hit by a car, or killed all because our children had no place to ride?  Please consider this for our children, and for the sake of giving them a placxe to go that keeps them off the streets, out of trouble, and away from danger from being hit by a car or killed because they are in dangerous locations ,looking for a place to ride. I believe they deserve this and hope that you can help us to make it happen. The children are not safe the way it is now and need a place just to go and I know this is what could benefit all concerned.
