In the Spanish region Andalucía, thousands of bulls and other animals are tortured and killed during bullfights and fiestas (local festivals). Comité Anti Stierenvechten (Anti Bullfighting Committee the Netherlands) would like to stop this abuse.
In the Spanish region Andalucía, thousands of bulls and other animals are tortured and killed during bullfights and fiestas (local festivals). Comité Anti Stierenvechten (Anti Bullfighting Committee the Netherlands) would like to stop this abuse.
The bullfighting industry in Andalucía (and the rest of Spain) is (financially) supported by the autonomous government, the regional and local governments in this Spanish region. Every year, bull breeders, arenas, bullfighting schools and others involved in this industry, receive millions of euros of subsidies to maintain this animal torture. We, the undersigned, want to put an end to the financial support of the Andalusian governments to bullfights and cruel fiestas.

Bullfighting is a barbaric ritual that needs to stop. Spain has such a rich cultural heritage, however this aspect needs to be re-examined, and stopped. This is not ENTERTAINMENT.

A majority of Spaniards is against bullfighting and feels ashamed that this practice goes on in their country. Unfortunately, the minority that supports bullfighting and other forms of animal torture for "fun", is very vociferous, and political parties don't seem to take much interest in the issue. So let's keep protesting. In the end we will win!
