Russian Investigators: Hold Men Accountable for Killing an Innocent Bear!

  • av: Kailey L.
  • mottagare: Yakutian Investigators

On Monday, an innocent bear was crushed to death in Siberia. It died being intentionally run over by off-road vehicles. After poking it with a long stick to see if the bear was still alive, the men repeatedly drove over the bear until it finally died.

Numerous images and videos of the horrific incident have popped up on social media, and in one, you can even hear a man in the truck yelling: "Squash him! Squash him!" The message from these men is clear: bear lives do not have value, and they are allowed to do with them as they please.

Incidents where wild animals are harmed by humans are increasingly common in mining and oil towns. As some animals fail to go into hibernation or become curious about the human activity, many are killed on the spot. Last year at an Arctic military base, a man inserted a firecracker into a polar bear's mouth. In the video that went viral, the bear can be seen howling in pain.

We must demand that justice is served in this investigation so that similar acts do not occur in the future. Yakutia investigators must work to protect innocent wildlife and punish those who criminally and horrifically hurt it. Sign this petition now to demand all men responsible for this bear's inhumane death are held accountable.
