Since September of 2016, ECUA has opened a new recycling facility however, The City Of Pensacola has yet, to switch over to this local recycling facility & instead uses a company in Alabama that limits recycling options which is terrible for the environment thus sending much unnecessary waste to a desinated landfill because the company Mayor Ashton Hayward uses for the City of Pensacola only accepts Plastics #1 & #2, which is a very minimal recycling facility compared to the local ECUA Recycling Facility that opened September of 2016 & accepts more than some mixed paper, small selection of Occ paper containers, and very small amount of metals. The City of Pensacola regressed in order to cut cost which limited recycling down to bare minimum which forced people in 'The City Of Pensacola' to no longer be able recycle a more vast expansion of recycable items. Fortunately, ECUA Recycling Facility opened in September of 2016 hopefully, curbing this quiet ditch effort to recycle. Unfortunately, since curb side recycling has been a success for creating less garbage waste most all large recycle bins had been picked up leaving no recycling bins active in many areas for anything other than paper & boxes. Many people were unaware of this change in Pensacola & other surrounding areas of Northwest Florida. The City of Pensacola did continue to recycle however, regressed & no longer accepted a much more vast collection of recyclable items. Please help petition Mayor Ashton Hayward to please switch recycling companies to local Ecua Facility, which allows for a more vast recyling option Such as, follows: Glass any color, newspaper/inserts, magazines/catalogs, phone books,office/school yellow paper, brown paper grocery bags, box board (cereal, cake, cracker boxes, ect.) Pizza boxes/plastic produce clam shells, Very Important plastic #1 - #7, plastic milk jugs, bottles, & containers, Aluminium cans & lids, bubble wrap, pet cans & dry pet food bags, Aluminum foil baking pans, Balls of tin foil/foil pie tins, metal, pots, pans & cookie sheets, egg cartons cardboard only at this time unless plastic #1 - #7. It is time for Mayor Ashton Hayward to Help progress with environmental impact of expansion of recycling options again through Ecua Recycling Facility with curbside pick up since the ECUA recycling facility has been open & active since September 2016.
