Support us in ensuring that no Scottish veteran becomes homeless

"I'm a soldier, I didn't think I could end up homeless" was Bill McDowall's thought after he left the army having served for 10 years. And Bill is not alone - between 2014 and 2015 an astonishing 925 veterans registered as homeless in Scotland.

The transition from leaving the armed forces into civilian life can often leave veterans and their families cut off and alone. Many veterans often have nowhere to turn. The result can lead to social isolation and even homelessness.

At Erskine, we believe that every veteran deserves the safety and security of a place to call home.

Erskine has worked with ex-service men and women for over 100 years now and we want to ensure that new accommodation is built to address homelessness and to reduce social isolation experienced by veterans leaving the services.

These developments will comprise additional family housing, single living accommodation for veterans of working age, a small number of assisted living apartments, and an activities centre. Together with our care homes this will provide a wide range of services for veterans in a safe environment.

Sign our pledge today and show your support - they fought for your home, now they need you to fight for one for them. Please show them that they are not forgotten.
