Colorado's rivers are stressed. Right now the Colorado River doesn't even reach the sea during a good year, and during drought years? It's even worse. With more and more demands being placed on our rivers and the water they supply us, it's time to stand up for them and keep them healthy.
Just in time, President Obama's Bureau of Reclamation is proposing changes to the way it decides which projects receive its WaterSMART grants. Our say? Projects that keep water IN our streams and rivers and promote healthy flows right from the start should be priority number 1. Now, we have less than 30 days to let the Bureau of Reclamation know that we support our rivers and streams.
