Ensure an Animal Cruelty Registry in Effort to Stop Animal Abuse in Georgia

Animal cruelty crimes throughout Georgia are continually on the rise with arrests for such violations as abuse, neglect, dog fighting operations and more.  Those without a voice seem to have no real protection but my hope is that this state will push for a bill similar to the one in Tennessee and implement an animal cruelty registry.  Such a data base would be similar in stature to that of databases for sex offenders and child abusers.  Georgia mas talked of such a bill but has not yet moved forward with such a proposal.  Read more on their efforts to protect animals at https://www.facebook.com/The-Animal-Abuse-Registry-177792205603726/ https://www.animallaw.info/statute/ga-cruelty-cruelty-animals

Current laws nationwide seem to be designed to govern, animal cruelty issues as more of a peripheral concern, often leaving animal-related offenses in the hands of animal control or other Humane Society organizations; family and domestic violence are thusly handled by human service agencies.  Organizations until now have not worked together even though it is a proven fact that there is a link between animal cruelty and crimes against humans. As put in the above documents, when animals are abused, people are at risk and in the event of humans being abused, the animals are at risk.  Law enforcement needs to take a step up in protecting all forms of life but it all depends on laws governed within the state, such as those within Georgia.  In order to stop animal abuse and such issues, the hope is to encourage Georgia lawmakers to implement and enforce an animal cruelty registry.

A Georgia animal cruelty registry needs to require full information of anyone who has abused an animal in an effort to protect them throughout the entire state. Such a database needs to have strict implications and be registered with all pertinent data for a lifetime.  Such offenders should not be allowed to ever own, work with or care for any other animals after a crime against an animal.  This is the only method to stop such repeat abuse.  Join me in being a voice for all animals as we ensure their safety and wellbeing.  You can help by signing and sharing this petition, adding your thoughts and comments in the name of the voiceless statewide.

Georgia Lawmakers – I am appalled at how many animals continue to fall victim to abuse, cruelty and neglect at the hands of heartless humans on a daily basis throughout the state and nation. Not only are these voiceless creatures in danger of such crimes, it is a proven fact that anyone who is comfortable harming an animal has no conscience when it comes to any other lives around them.  In an effort to protect all lives throughout your state, proceed with your initial thoughts in protecting animals by implementing and enforcing a database for any and all animal abusers.  An animal cruelty registry needs to be created and fully enforced to save animals from abuse and neglect.
