Stop Violating Human and Land Rights of Sami People - Stop Deforestation

We the Undersigned appeal that The President of Finland, Government and Parliament stop The Forest and Park Service violating human and land rights of Sami people and lead by example to stop deforestation of the world with other governments, NGOs and individuals.

Dear All,

We are writing to let you know about the reckless attitude of The Forest and Park Service to take into account human and land rights of Sami People. We appeal that The Forest and Park Service apply the newest FSC standards (
http://www.fsc-finland.org/) in all Finland's publicly-owned forests instead of FFCS (http://www.ffcs-finland.org/) and listen all parties.

The deforestation of the world continues at an alarming rate. We the undersigned appeal you to do your utmost best to stop this, and, not only to stop, but, to lead by example and turn the tide towards sustainable development and forestation.

Recently more than 110 000 people from Finland and abroad required that by 2010 Finland raise the amount of protected forest in South Finland, as well as that of poorly protected parts of the country's northernmost regions Oulu and Lapland, to five per cent, and in the longer term to ten per cent, of the country's forested land.(
http://www.metsavetoomus.fi/).

We sincerely appeal that you will vigorously put this Appeal of Finnish people and our new appeal into action without delay.
