Join us in demanding immediate reinstatement of Julie Taube as house manager for the Gamma Omicron Chapter of AOII.

  • recipient: Alpha Omicron Pi International Headquarters

On May 26, after 24 years of dedication, service, and sacrifice, beloved house director and sister Julie Taube was, without cause, "not invited" back as house director of the Gamma Omicron chapter of AOII.

In the past, Julie had not received an official invitation to return and was assumed to be staying on. In April, Julie had received an invitation to the house directors' meeting this summer. Then, on May 26, she received the news that her services would not be required in the fall. In spite of many sisters requesting an explanation as to what occurred between April and May that would cause her to be released from her position, nothing but empty, canned responses have been returned.

Julie has done a phenomenal job of managing the property and its many challenges, as 24 years worth of AOIIs can attest. She is a cherished member of our sorority who makes our house a home; many sisters return to Gainesville just to visit her.

Julie is known as "Mom" to more than 2,000 sisters, but, most importantly, she is also known as "sister." And sisters deserve better treatment than being turned out without cause.

It is our hope that this petition will spur AOII Headquarters to demonstrate sisterly values and reinstate Julie as house director of the Gamma Omicron chapter. Give her the dignity, respect, and appreciation that 24 years of service deserves, and the kindness, love, and care that 23 years of sisterhood calls for.
