ASPCA officials optimistic about animal's recovery.
(New York, NY) June 10, 2005 - The ASPCA® (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) announced today the arrest of Mr. Caswell Blake for Aggravated Animal Cruelty, a felony, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon, after a rigorous investigation.
Humane Law Enforcement agents of the ASPCA arrested Mr. Blake in front of 47 Columbia Street, Manhattan, without incident.
On May 30, 2005, Mr. Blake, 51 of Queens beat his sons six-month old puppy with a metal chair resulting in severe lacerations and uncontrolled bleeding.
The puppy was seized by ASPCA agents and taken to the ASPCAs Bergh Memorial Animal Hospital for life-saving treatment. The puppy, a female mixed breed, is doing well and the ASPCA veterinary staff is optimistic for a
