Stop Failing Our Kids: Fix Wisconsin's Loophole-Ridden Gun Laws

Oak Creek. Aurora. Brookfield. Newtown. Every day, 86 people are killed with guns in this country. Here in Wisconsin, failure to fix our broken gun laws is costing our most vulnerable — our children — their lives.

Children like Sierra Guyton, 10, shot in her neighborhood playground. Laylah Peterson, 5, shot through the wall of her house as she sat on her grandfather's lap. Eric Gutierrez, 11, shot in the head in the Town of Sharon. Bill Thao, 1, shot through the wall of his family's house just two days after Christmas.

Now we each face a choice: Accept these senseless tragedies as our new normal — or stand up and fight for the sane gun laws we need and the safe communities our families deserve.

That's where you come in.

Right now, a growing movement of people from all walks of life, all political persuasions and every corner of the state is coming together to break the gun lobby's grip on our lives and laws.

And our voices are getting results. In 2014, the only gun bill to become law here in Wisconsin wasn't some reckless gift to the gun lobby, it was a lifesaving reform that everyday Wisconsinites fought for — and won.

But we can't keep winning unless people like you choose to bolster our ranks and speak out for the safer, saner Wisconsin you believe in.

Help reclaim Wisconsin — join the growing chorus of voices demanding that our elected officials take the concrete steps we know will reduce gun violence and save lives.
