I have worked in one of those awful pet stores, and my concerns were ignored or punished every time. I rescue cats, dogs, small animals, reptiles and even fish. Yes, even fish. I have seen them in such bad shape I can't believe they're still alive! And it was all because of neglect, or because the wrong information was given by the store because they hadn't researched the animal they were selling. It's not fair, whether you think in terms of a dishonest sale, a customer who was duped out of their money, or especially a suffering animal. |

Cruelty to Pet Shop Animals
Seeing young mice so crowded in a cage that fighting erupts and blood is streaked across the glass is not how animals should be marketed to be sold. Pet shop owners that ignore their very fragile reptiles till they are laying dead at the bottom of the cage is a sight often seen. Putting a stop to the greedy torment small animals are kept under is necessary in showing human love and respect for the things that some have taken for granted. Cats should not have to frolic in knee deep feces, birds should not have their feathers torn out of their skin due to overcrowding, and if people wish to make money off animals then they MUST sacrifice the work that must be put into them.
