EDITED 10.21.15 This just got worse.... the coyote turns out, was 21 yr old blind and deaf dog that had gotton out of her yard. http://www.examiner.com/article/woman-s-21-year-old-dog-repeatedly-run-over-by-police-cruiser We are suppose to support our local police and OPP, and stand against hateful cop-bashing, because almost always, they truly deserve our respect and utmost thanks. But this particular officer needs to be fired - or at the very least, mandatory counselling regarding his disdain for life, and due to his involvement with people - I believe retraining is warranted. If not, he should be removed , for these actions have only proven to escalate over time. Justice needs to be swift.
Sgt. Lynda Cranney of Central Region OPP was quoted saying "the OPP is committed to the "humane destruction" of animals when necessary".
HOW WAS THIS CONSIDERED NECESSARY??? Where is he trained to drive over any animal? Not once. Not even twice. But THREE times! WHY???
When asked whether the OPP have ever hit an animal on purpose in a cruiser, she said, "I can't speak to that."
As for standard protocol for dealing with a call about a wild animal, Cranney said "every incident is investigated as an individual incident."
Jolanta Kowalski, senior media relations officer for the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF), said the ministry has been made aware of the video by simcoe.com and is looking into it.
Please know WE are also looking into it....

Compassion seems to be easily drained from those serving our communities anymore. I can try to understand it - but will never get it on this level. If you cannot care about the smallest weaker being.... How can you have compassion for anyone or anything else? We have to demand better of these men and women. I am disturbed that for the past 8 days , I have not been able to find ANY updates regarding this incident. NONE. Perhaps Simcoe.com would like to weight in here? Perhaps Global news, CTV - SERIOUSLY - there is nothing I can google to find an update.... WHAT is going on?!!

You have all helped almost double my expectations of signatures. What if we could match the other petition that is well over 11,000 last look? With everyone who has signed - I believe it's possible! Less than 20 supporters needed to reach the goal - but I hope the count overwhelmingly surpasses my expectations. To see signatures from ALL across the WORLD makes this such a united front against the cruelty to all involved in this incident. We DEMAND action be taken and charges be laid, to reinforce that this conduct will not be tolerated - EVER, by anyone. Thank you for your support!
