Support President Obama's Promise to Veto Keystone XL
The science is in. The job reports are in. The impacts to wildlife habitat, drinking water and a livable climate are known. All of these things make it clear that the Keystone XL pipeline is not in the interest of Americans or anyone else on the planet except a handful of Canadian oil corporations and Charles and David Koch.
Yet our Congress is intent on passing a bill that would force through approval of this dirty, dangerous pipeline that would carry up to 380,000 barrels of some of the dirtiest crude oil in the world right across America’s aquifers, farmlands and wildlife habitat. The vote could come any day.
President Barack Obama knows the score. He has increasingly signaled that he is not in favor of the project. This week he vowed to veto any bill trying to ram this project through.
Take action today: Send the president a letter letting him know you support his stand against this climate-killing pipeline.
Dear President Obama,
Keystone XL will contribute to climate change and fails the climate test. It fails every other environmental and economic test as well. Thank you for taking a stand and vowing to veto any bill that would force approval of this pipeline. You bold action will protect the air, water and quality of life for Americans and America’s wildlife. I support you and thank you for acting. Stop the pipeline now.
