We must do our part to care for hungry people

The U.S. Congress plays a critical role in funding global health programs — yet, each year, 159 million children still suffer the life-threatening consequences of chronic malnutrition. And anemia — a leading cause of maternal deaths — affects half a billion women worldwide. We must do more to help.

Sign below to be part of the collective Christian voice demanding that Congress does more to support lifesaving programs for mothers and children by expanding funding for global nutrition.
Dear Congressmember,

The U.S. has led the way in combating global hunger by supporting lifesaving nutrition programs for mothers and children. Yet 2.6 million children under the age of five died from malnutrition last year.

The enormity of that loss is difficult to comprehend, but we are called to respond in the face of such enormous, preventable suffering.

The U.S. is in a unique position of being able to do more to help. We have a responsibility to act — and act quickly.

I urge you to support increased funding for global maternal and child nutrition programs in the global health account during fiscal year 2017 in order to combat this epidemic and lead the way toward ending chronic hunger and extreme poverty around the world.

159 million children suffer the consequences of malnutrition. They cannot wait. For their sakes, we must act now.

Sincerely,
