Persuade North Fork Resort BOD to assign seasonal lots and eliminate the rule that requires members to move every 2 weeks/28 days.

* All members of North Fork Resort should be able to submit a request at the beginning of the camping season with their top 3 picks for a site or general area they would like to put their camper on for the season.
* Contractors are allowed to camp year round and don't have to move.
* What you do for one group of people should be done for all who enjoy North Fork Resort fairly.
* The current rule requiring all members to move every 2 weeks/28 days is restrictive, time consuming and a hassle for everyone involved and creates a negative camping experience and the inability to enjoy your time just camping.
* No sooner than you get settled on to a lot, it's time to move.
* Often, we don't camp on days that we could have because we know that in a couple of days, it's time to move again - so we opt to not camp when we want so we only have to make the drive to the resort once – TO MOVE. (FOR EXAMPLE, move day is Friday, but you have time on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday to camp and enjoy a couple of days, but you don't because you have to turn around and come back Friday … just to move.)
* ANOTHER EXAMPLE…You plan a 1 week vacation at your camper but three days into vacation, guess what...it's time to move again so you can't set up your picnic table, you don't hang your lights or put out our mat, you don't set up your shade tent, you don't set up things the way you want, because two days into vacation you have to move. Then move day comes and you lose another day of vacation with your family to tear everything down, move and finally set things up the way you want. Then, you only get to enjoy a couple of days before it's time to leave.
* ANOTHER EXAMPLE…an emergency comes up, you suffer a loss within your family, a child gets sick, you are sick, your towing vehicle breaks down…still gotta move!
* It's a hassle for everyone!
* It wastes the time of the reservation person.
* Camping should be about the experience of being outdoors, having a bon fire, listening to the birds, taking it easy, but instead you're constantly moving.
* You're constantly thinking about moving, calling in to schedule your next move, arranging your busy lives and work schedules and children's activities around moving.
* It's difficult to plan other activities because you're constantly moving.
* It's difficult for the elderly people in the resort to be constantly moving.
* It's difficult for single people to move by themselves.
* It's dangerous for the children who are out riding their bikes, walking around, and playing with all the trucks and campers being towed around constantly. They could easily not be seen, dart out into the road and get hit by a vehicle in tow.

If a seasonal lot was assigned to each member at the beginning of each camping season, it would be a safer, more enjoyable experience for everyone at North Fork Resort. There's no need to change any of the other rules about not building things around your camper, you're only allowed so many nights to be on the resort, you have to stay at least 2 nights every two week period and whatever rules and requirements need to be met. North Fork Resort would still be able to "hold open" whatever percentage of lots in each area of the resort for public campers and over nighters. Just like with anything else, if the resort is booked, you have to find another place to camp. If no more seasonal lots are available, you can choose to camp in the open lots and move if you are staying more than two weeks. At the end of the season, everyone has to move out, just like now. Once you've reached your maximum stay, you have to move out, just like now. Contractors would remain in their areas, just like now. Premium or highly desired lots would not be available as seasonal lots.

Based on observations, people know what area of the resort they like to camp in and even when they move, they are moving within the same row of the area they are in, USUALLY, just a couple lots away from where they were. No one is fighting over getting a particular lot or wanting to move from one area of the resort to a completely different area. We all have a general area we like to be in and would not be disappointed in being assigned a lot for the season in the general area of our preference.
