Email this PetitionThe Founder of Razor's Edge "pit bulls" has admitted he has mixed several breeds of dogs, including the American Pit Bull Terrier, to produce a new "breed" of dog he calls the American Bully, giving credence to the suspicions of responsible "pit bull" owners that these dogs are of mixed lineage. We therefore urge the UKC to investigate this issue and revoke papers if appropriate.

While the UKC should take responsibility for this and acknowledge such it is impossible to remove them and all their relatives. This is also where the blue color most often comes from. While it is a shame that this has happened they are now to deeply intertwined to remove from the stud books. If the UKC/ADBA was to do so then many of those who do not agree with such lines would also soon come to find out their Pit Bull is now being excluded due deeper relationships they were unaware of. To now pull the line would mean to pull all relatives as well and this would then decimate the breed. Look in Colby's book and you will see NO blues. He has confirmed this was not part of the original standard yet the 1936 standard says all colors. The ADBA and UKC tried this with Merle Pits even though the Merle's have a lineage that can be proven back into the 60's and there is anecdotal evidence as far back as the 30's as well as ones that have come directly through the Colby yard. Even the ADBA realized pulling these from the past would harm the breed so much they stopped revoking papers on owners who they knew were related to Merles and have since admitted to the Merles long history within the breed even though they do not like it. Their solution was to then disqualify Merle moving forward while leaving the past alone. Check out the Pit Bull in the picture, while many who are ignorant to the recently floating standards the UKC/ADBA has had and would deny its purity based on color/Merle it is clear to see that it falls far closer to the original standards than anything Razor's Edge, Blackjack and many others. The best thing to do if you do not believe in the RE standard is to breed away from its genetics. If enough people do this over time the breed will self correct genetically back to its original physical standards as first documented in 1936. |  |

It is a different blood line with different temperment and engeries. Its ok to be what they are ..just say the truth and be happy with the bully name. Leave the true real deal pit bulls to the people who love the breed for what they are and stop trying to change them. A 80-100lb dog is not of correct UKC/ADBA conformation. Although this is a very well bred dog that deserves alot of repect the confermation does not match of the American pitbull terrier. U can look at the moloser pages and U will see many great dogs that resemble The American pitbull terrier but they R not, the truth is the truth. Real talk let him take his place in the bully breed true to its breeding as the American bully, a great dog decending from the American Pitbull terrier,just as the american pitbull terrier has done. This man should be proud to be the creator of such a breed, I know that I would. So take it how U want but this is not an American Pitbull terrier it is a dog with the blood of the APBT in it. UKC, Please Revoke Razor's Edge Registration Papers
DAVE WILSON is President of Razor's Edge and self-proclaimed founder of a breed of dog he calls "American Bullys." For many years, fanciers of the American Pit Bull Terrier and the American Staffordshire Terrier have suspected that these "short and wide" bully-type dogs from lines such as Razor's Edge have very likely been mixed with other breeds to produce heavy-weight, thick-boned, big-headed, stout dogs that are portrayed as American Pit Bull Terriers. Dave Wilson has admitted that the development of these "American Bullies" rose from mixing dogs of various breeds, yet many of these dogs still have UKC registration papers.
In a letter to a newspaper, Dave Wilson wrote, "The 'Back 2 the Bullies' convention to be held tomorrow...is not for the 'celebration of the pit bull' as you allege; it is for public awareness of the American Bully. This is a new breed created more than 15 years ago, and it is a separate breed from the 'pit bull.'
"We blended different breeds together to obtain certain desired traits. The American pit bull terrier was one of the breeds whose lineage is in the background of this breed, but it is by no means the only breed behind it.

Some breeders even included some bulldog lineage into their breeding. This breed has been established for over 10 years now."
We Responsible Dog Owners hereby petition the UKC to conduct a full investigation into the Razor's Edge line and, if appropriate, revoke the registration all dogs registered by Dave Wilson and all dogs with Razor's Edge dogs within the first three generations of their pedigree.
