At 16, Moses Was Tortured - Act Now To Save His Life

"The pain of torture is unbearable. I never thought I would be alive till this day."

Aged 16, Moses was awaiting the results of his school exams when his life changed forever.

Arrested by the Nigerian army and charged with robbery, he reports that the police severely beat him with machetes and batons; tied and hanged him for several hours in interrogation rooms and used pliers to pull-out his finger and toe nails in order to force him to sign two confessions.

Moses was convicted solely on the basis of the victim's statement and the two confessions he made while being tortured. After eight years in prison, Moses was sentenced to death by hanging.

No one should experience this level of brutality. No one should be pressured to confess through torture. And no one under the age of eighteen at the time of the criminal offence should be sentenced to death.

Please act now and sign the petition to save Moses' life.
To the Governor of the Delta State concerning Moses Akatugba.

I urge you to:

-- Commute Moses Akatugba's death sentence
-- Institute an independent investigation into Moses Akatugba's allegations of torture by the police in Delta State
