Bureau Jeugdzorg (BJZ), under the auspices of the Ministry of Security and Justice is violating Article 8 of the Human Rights Act to Family Rights by not allowing access to our children. Their grandfather is frail and deteriorating from metastatic cancer, and since we live in France we cannot travel to the Netherlands so that they can see their grandfather who has raised them with me since they were small. BJZ is stating under no uncertain terms that the children can travel to France. If we want to see them, then we can come there. I can, but my husband can’t, and his not being able to see them is bringing his efforts to fight the cancer is dwindling. The children should be allowed to say goodbye.
Ask Bonnie O, from BJZ, where is the compassion and how is this in the best interest of our children and for their grandfather?
