Pledge your Support for an Ontario Dementia Plan!

One in ten Ontarians over 65 lives with Alzheimer's disease or another dementia! Countless others are diagnosed before the age of 65. Numbers will double by 2031, but we are not prepared for what is likely the greatest health challenge of our time.

Dementia isn't a typical health issue. It takes away a person's abilities and sense of self. Friends and family members provide ever-increasing hours of care over the years.

A comprehensive provincial Dementia Plan would increase awareness of dementia, educate those providing care, support early diagnosis and treatment, ensure care coordination, improve family and caregiver supports and build health-care’s capacity to respond to the increasing challenge of dementia.

Developing a plan like this takes time and effort, and the government must commit to investing funds over several years. Yet at any time this commitment can be overshadowed by other political priorities. This is why we need your help. By pledging your support for an Ontario Dementia Plan you are telling the government that as an Ontarian this issue is important to you and the people you care about.

The good news? Awareness of dementia is growing. The government has shown it is ready to act.

Help us maintain this momentum. Let’s speak up and help the government keep dementia a priority.

Sign our pledge to support the government’s commitment to develop and implement an Ontario Dementia Plan.
