Repeal "Don't Ask Don't Tell" Now

"Ten years from now, we will look back in amazement that we denied full and equal rights for LGBT Americans."

That's Illinois State Treasurer and U.S. Senate Candidate Alexi Giannoulias, who believes that all Americans -- regardless of sexual orientation -- are part of the American family, and that the federal government should extend the same rights and responsibilities to all of its citizens.

The U.S. military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy has resulted in the discharge of thousands of brave men and women, simply because of their sexual orientation. This policy is ineffective, immoral, and wrong.

The time to repeal DADT is now. We need leaders who recognize that when it comes to equality, we can't afford to wait a moment longer.

Stand with Alexi Giannoulias today. Sign our petition calling for an immediate repeal of the "Don't Ask Don't Tell" law.

Dear [Decision Maker]

Today, I proudly stand with Illinois Democratic nominee for Senate Alexi Giannoulias to send a message to the U. S. Senate: Finish repealing the U.S. Military policy "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."

I agree with Alexi that all people are equal, and that we should judge one another by our actions and ideas - not by our race, our religion or our sexual orientation. People should be evaluated on their ability to do the job, not on their identities.
