Draft Russ Feingold

Sen. Herb Kohl, Wisconsin's senior senator, has announced that he won't run for re-election. Wisconsin is in need of solid progressive leadership. The seat that Kohl is vacating has not been held by a Republican since 1957, and we need to keep it that way.

Russ Feingold is the right candidate for the job. There is no one better on the issue of campaign finance reform, which is a key issue in Wisconsin. He will also potentially be running against someone who wants to end Medicare. Feingold has fought to protect Medicare and Social Security, and will be a key ally in that fight.

With the turmoil that has erupted with a Republican majority in the House, we cannot afford to lose this seat, or to elect someone who is not strong. Sign this petition asking Russ Feingold to run for Senate in the next election.
Dear Russ,

We need you in the Senate. We've seen the disaster that has come from the Republican majority in the House. Medicare and Medicaid are under attack and they're threatening to privatize Social Security. They've attacked workers and the unemployed while protecting subsidies for big oil and tax breaks for the wealthy.

You are a true progressive leader. You've fought hard to protect the middle-class by protecting workers rights. You've fought for our seniors by protecting Medicare and Social Security. You've fought for affordable health care by supporting single payer health insurance.

And there's no one better on the issue of campaign finance reform than you. We've seen what happens when corporations and wealthy CEOs are able to pour tens of millions of dollars into campaigns. We need leaders like you who will fight to end Citizens United and corporate influence in our elections.

Please run for the Senate seat that Herb Kohl is vacating. We need you.
