This petition is an expression of support for the healthy existance of the Inupiat people of Alaska's arctic.
We must support the Inupiat's right to self-determination. They are advocating for the responsible development of the Coastal Plain of ANWR. The Coastal Plain is their homeland and we feel the Inupiat should have the ultimate decision on how best to live their lives. Responsible development enables the Inupiat to provide themselves with sanitary living conditions, heat for their homes, and the right to an education for their children.
We must also understand the Inupiat have regulatory powers over the industry to ensure their animals and ancient traditional environmental values are protected.
