Mumia Abu-Jamal never received a fair trial. His trial was a total travesty of justice, filled with lies, police coercion of witnesses, judicial bias, and an incompetent public defender. When the presiding judge over Mumia's trial says Yeah, and I'm going to help them fry the ni**er, and the DAs office intentionally excludes blacks from the jury, and the prosecutor's instructions to the jury were to convince them to vote for the death penalty because Mumia would have appeal after appeal, thereby lessening the seriousness of their role in deciding life or death for Mumia, when Mumia was not even allowed at his own trial, and when racism and politics were the key motivating factors throughout the trial ... Mumia never had any chance of a fair trial (or subsequent hearings). The time is long overdue to right this great wrong. MUMIA ABU-JAMAL DESERVES A NEW AND FAIR TRIAL! Mumia's original trial and subsequent PCRA hearing never had the slightest semblance of justice. Mumia should be allowed to present ALL the facts of this case to a jury of his peers, without judicial or prosecutorial bias & racism, as the US Constitution says he should.

I am from Belfast [Northern] Ireland and can smell this sort of injustice - but I should stress that I have studied the matter for many years now (about fifteen - I organised a picket at teh US Consulate in Belfast in 1995).

Why does Chariles Manson get to pick and choose which letters he recives and Mr. Jamal does not? Why is it, that in this country, you are only free by as much money you have? After watching the film 'In prison my whole life' I was appaled by the blatant racism and double standards that still exist to this day.

i believe that all great men who walk this earth must be faced with some form of challenges and obstacles. We regardless of race, sex, or religion- we as a human race must obtain a certain amount of understanding towards one another in order to seperate right from wrong. In this case, Mumia was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Mumia must remain strong not for only for himself but also as a symbol of what our world has come to. Mumia is not alone and he will continue to be an insperation long after hes gone.
