The recent disasters in the Gulf underscore the need for a moratorium on any new offshore oil drilling. But newly minted "Independent" Charlie Crist is busy flip-flopping and Republican Marco Rubio refuses to rule drilling out.
Representative Kendrick Meek is the only Senate candidate in Florida who has consistently been against expanded drilling.
That's why Kendrick just joined with Senator Bill Nelson in introducing legislation that would pause the Department of Interior's current plans for aggressive expansion of offshore drilling in the Gulf and along the Atlantic Seaboard.
Charlie Crist and Marco Rubio need to know that the people of Florida want to stop expansion of oil drilling off our coasts.
To make real change, we need to stand together. Sign the petition and say, "I stand with Kendrick and oppose new offshore drilling in the Gulf."
Dear Governor Crist and Speaker Rubio,
I stand with Kendrick Meek and oppose new offshore drilling in the Gulf. We are seeing firsthand the devastation that offshore drilling can have on our environment and economy.

Halting expansion of offshore drilling would prevent these types of disasters from occurring again. This oil spill is causing irreparable damage to the Gulf. There is no reason that we should continue expanding the practice that put us in this position in the first place.
As a concerned citizen, I urge you to join Kendrick Meek and Senator Bill Nelson in supporting legislation that would pause the Department of Interior's plans to expand offshore drilling the Gulf, as well as along the Atlantic Seaboard.
Sincerely,
