Ralph Nader: Don't Run in 2004

To Mr. Ralph Nader,

We, the undersigned, proudly voted for Ralph Nader for Pesident in 2000. Yet we now request that you not run for President in 2004. Instead, we encourage you to use your credibility and talent to organize greater voter participation, and to strongly critique the policies of the Bush Administration. This election cycle, there is too much is at stake, and the danger to America is too grave for your candidacy to split away even one progressive vote from the purpose of electing a new Democratic President. The issues that you would present to the public are vitally important, but the small additional quantity of attention those issues may receive as the result of an independent Presidential bid is not worth the risk of another four years for Bush to damage our nation. If you choose to run depite our request, know that you will not receive our votes, which you received when you ran as the nominee of the Green Party, nor shall you receive our financial or moral support. Join us in acheiving the most important goal for progressives everywhere; stopping the Bush Administration.
