Tell Your Legislators: Keep Up the Clean Energy Momentum!

Clean energy in the United States is showing unstoppable momentum, and states are leading the way. More than two million Americans work in energy efficiency and renewable energy, and in 2016 alone, the country added enough solar to meet the needs of two million households. There's no turning back. From coast to coast and everywhere in between, states are enjoying the public health, job, and other benefits of lowering harmful power plant pollution and embracing efficiency, renewables, and electric vehicles.

Now more than ever, continued state leadership is necessary to keep up this nationwide momentum.

Write your legislators today and tell them: keep accelerating on clean energy!
Dear Legislator:

I am writing to urge you to support continued clean energy progress in our state. Across the country, clean energy is gaining unstoppable momentum. States leading the way are seeing undeniable benefits to their public health and economic development. By opting to invest in clean energy, states are cleaning up their air and putting their residents to work. The wide variety of clean energy resources available – from wind and solar to energy efficiency and electric vehicles – mean that every state has the opportunity to be a leader in the clean energy economy.

This progress is gaining speed. Renewable electricity standards in place in more than half of US states have been a major driver for renewable energy. Now, several states have recently increased their requirements to supply 50 percent of their electricity from renewable sources.

Policies like that are a part of how states have been driving clean energy momentum.

Clean energy is the way forward. I'm urging you to take sustained action to make sure that our home state adopts policies that promote the generation and use of renewable energy, remove barriers for businesses to adopt renewable options, and reduce harmful emissions from old, outdated energy sources such as coal.

Sincerely,
