Don't Let Anti-Choice Politics Put Women's Health in Jeopardy

Target: U.S. Senate
Sponsored by: NARAL Pro-Choice America
Our representatives in Washington are hard at work these days on health care reform legislation. We must make sure they don't make any more concessions to the anti-choice pressure they're feeling now.

You can make sure that American women don't lose ground - including losing abortion coverage they already have - in the new health system.

Reproductive-health care should be treated like any other health care service in the new system - not singled out for exclusion on political grounds. Speak out by writing your senators now!

Dear Senator [Name],

I'm writing to urge you to oppose any attempt to ban private insurance coverage for abortion in the new health care system.

I am especially concerned about some members of Congress' repeated efforts to use health care reform as an opportunity to restrict women's access to abortion and family planning.

Reproductive-health care should be treated like any other health care service in the new system - not singled out for exclusion on political grounds.

[Your comments here]

As you work to reconcile the health care reform legislation in the Senate, please don't let anti-choice politics interfere, and don't allow women's health to be put in jeopardy.

Sincerely,
[Your name here]

It is a fact that women still make significantly less money for the same job than men. Also the standard of living for women and children goes down after divorse while the standard of living for men goes up. THe right wing of this country does not support children after they are born and therefore they should have nothing to say about abortion. They are suppoprting never ending war and the murder of physicians based solely on their specialty.

All medical procedures are between the patient and their doctor. The govt has no business in the medical exam room! Stay out!
