Join Deepak Chopra: Tell Presidential Candidates to Propose Real Global Warming Solutions!

It's about time American politicians stop paying lip service to global warming and start proposing real solutions!

Our 2008 presidential candidates will have to deal with the greatest environmental problem we have ever faced. As citizens of a country that is one of the world's biggest polluters, we must make sure that they don't just talk about it, but actually have a detailed plan for combating it.

An aggressive plan to combat global warming must include:
  • Imposing a cap on CO2 emissions across the country and sticking to it, without special rules for rich companies.
  • Increasing fuel efficiency standards dramatically for commuter vehicles as well as commercial trucks.
  • Cleaning up our current electric and other power plants.
  • Investing in alternative, cleaner energies such as wind power, and providing incentives for companies who develop and use these technologies.
Please join Deepak Chopra today in telling the 2008 presidential candidates to make solutions to global warming a top priority.

Dear presidential candidate,

I stand with Deepak Chopra in urging you to make global warming a priority for your campaign.

I want to know that you have a detailed and aggressive plan to combat global warming, and will follow through with this plan.

This plan must include, among other things:

  • Imposing a cap on CO2 emissions across the country and sticking to it, without special rules for rich companies.

  • Increasing fuel efficiency standards dramatically for commuter vehicles as well as commercial trucks.

  • Cleaning up our current electric and other power plants.

  • Investing in alternative, cleaner energies such as wind power, and providing incentives for companies who develop and use these technologies.
As citizens of a country that is one of the world's biggest polluters, we must step up now. If we don't, the consequences will be devastating.

Sincerely,

I want to hear that you are letting go of any really stupid ideas about capture and bury co2 emissions-- I am already having nightmares about the day these time bombs are held for randsom- the movie rites are being sold-- don't do it-- the future should contain some promise, some mystery, and lots of HOPE. make the coal powered plants spend money on clean up-- it is OKAY to cut profits for companies that are on their way OUT-- that is how OUT starts to happen; ALLOW this. Coal is OVER, let it go. Wind is in! Solar is in! clear the sky and win-win... WE deserve a future!!

Please get the country completely off the energy grid as it currently stands. I understand that companies are getting rich off of the peoples` dependency on paid energy, but you know it is unnecessary. We have the technology and the means now to install and use free energy devices that will serve everyone and save the people a lot of money every year. Doing that would be a great service to the country. Thank you for your consideration.

We ask for nationwide education on alternative energy. We ask for the opportunity to use green energy with the help to obtain it--not just the wealthy, but everyone! Please don't destroy our precious coastlines with drilling & oil spills. We are sick of lip service--talk about real solutions--do something! It makes me sick to see the pollution & destruction of Mother Earth. And for what??? So we can consume, consume, consume. Educate or hang your heads in shame.

I want there to still be a Mother Earth with all her lush trees, white polar bears, and sparkling blue oceans. I want you to protect our children from Global Warming, protect the invalids who can not protect themselves, protect the babies whose parents can not afford energy efficient cars. We need you to put all your efforts into making Global Warming a thing of the past.

Can we stop feeding the fire of global warming? If the cost of everything goes up, as they will to accurately reflect the true cost of a being a consumptive society, let us use less, buy less and consume less. Teach our children about their carbon footprint in school. For everything (98%) I buy for our house and family, is searched for at thrift shops first. Is it better for global warming to have the world work towards reaching the level of developed economic nations or move in the direction of less developed nations that have less debt and stress, while working toward the improvement of the quality of life and our planet?

why does Palin think global warming is not real..an is not prolife for the environment? Why did McCain pick someone that doesn't protect endangere species, ignore scientists facts? Thats like BUSH. Why does Palin want to ariel slaughtr wolves and offer illegal bounties on their legs? Why would an animal slaughterer to EXINCTION wear a polar bear pin? She is worse on endangered species and global warming than Bush is and that is BAD!

As the leader of our country and the free world, take a deep stand to address this issue. Our current president did not take it seriously and neither did most of the American public. Impose a cap on CO2 emissions across the country and STICK to it--no exceptions. Increasc fuel efficiency standards dramatically for commuter vehicles and commercial trucks. Invest in alternative, clean energies such as wind power. Give incentives to companies and citizens who develop and use these technologies.
