Justice for Guantanamo Detainees

For more than a decade, the US government has imprisoned men at Guantanamo Bay without charge or trial. Indefinite detention without trial is not just un-American; it violates basic human rights. WE CAN CHANGE THIS.

By keeping men in prison without a trial to determine their innocence or guilt, the US government not only undermines its moral authority to oppose these practices elsewhere but also gives extremist groups around the world a weapon to justify their attacks on us. WE CAN CHANGE THIS.

Guantanamo detainees should be charged and tried in US courts; the innocent should be repatriated immediately and the guilty should be sentenced in accordance with the law. If there is no evidence to support charges, the detainees should be repatriated immediately. That is the American way. WE CAN DEMAND THIS.

We can change this - your actions can make a difference. Sign this petition to demand that the US government charge and try or repatriate all Guantanamo detainees.
I respectfully urge you to immediately provide justice to all Guantanamo Bay detainees by charging and trying them in US courts, convicting the guilty and repatriating the others to their homelands or to third countries where they will be safe.

By imprisoning men at Guantanamo Bay indefinitely without charge or trial, I believe the United States government is violating the basic values on which the country was built, is undermining its moral authority in the world, and is providing its enemies with a weapon to use against it. It's time to implement the rule of law and justice for Guantanamo detainees.

Sincerely,
