Make Cars Safe for Cats and Other Small Creatures

The purpose of this petition is to try and get G.M. and other car manufacturers to install devices to detect if a cat or other small animal is hiding underneath a car, to avoid it from being run over by accident.
Every year, literally thousands of cats and other small animals get run over by accident, simply because the driver of the vehicle did not know that they were there. Often times, the animal involved is a much loved pet. We can avoid this yearly tragedy if some warning system were installed beneath the vehicle to warn the driver. With only a little bit of research money, much pain and suffering (both to animal and human) can be avoided if cars and other vehicles were installed with such life-sensitive devices. With today's technology, such devices are not only possible to manufacture, but can be made affordable enough to be placed on every vehicle to come off the assembly line. Let us make our world a safer place for our pets!
