I think the government should follow suite. There doesn't seem to be anyone checking to see if our tax money that is collected is spent wisely. It appears as if something is needed, it is simply purchased without much attention paid to how much it will cost or any penatly to the vendor for cost over-run. If most businesses operated that way, they would go out of business quite soon. One of the principals this country was founded on was "no taxation without representation". For example, they are approved to us our medical care without cost to them (despite not being citizens or contributing taxes and sending most of their earnings back to their home countries). Their children attend our schools free of charge. We have to hire bi-lingual teachers in order to teach children who are here illegally. They have virtually bankrupted most of the hospitals in southern California already with their free healthcare, which our gov't pays for (our tax dollars at work). |

Getting them interpreters, printing things in Spanish, so they can feel comfortable? How about the government's unwillingness to raise minimun wage, while in that same ten year stretch, they have VOTED THEMSELVES TEN, YES TEN, PAY RAISES. If these people had to live on what we do, they'd be lost. With gas at and in some places well over $3.00 a gallon, rents are more, we are being asked to pay modern day prices on a decade old wage. It is unrealistic. When the government officals live on $5.15, we will. But until that time, our min wage should be no LESS than 8.00 an hour. $5.15 will not pay for day care, gas, rent, bills, food, and other things families need. GET WITH IT...WE NEED HIGHER WAGES. |

Cut Government Waste!
Time after time, stories of government waste pop up. For example, why should Congresspeople vote themselves pay increases along with many perks when many seniors are below the poverty level and when our military live in substandard housing? There have also been budget expenditures on the mating of grasshoppers, $250 toilets for the military, and $250 haircuts. More examples of government waste can be found at the website http://www.cagw.org We the people demand a complete audit of government expenditures by an independent firm and elimination of all wasteful spending. The savings can be used to pay down the debt, help seniors, and improve barracks.
