In the last decade, the number of hungry people on the planet has fallen by 100 million to 805 million — that's huge. But it is still 805 million hungry people too many.
We can win the fight against global hunger — but not if we stall or cut the innovative, cost-effective programs, like Feed the Future which is helping millions of farmers to lift themselves out of poverty.
By working with small-scale farmers to claim their rights, fight hunger, and adapt to climate change, Feed the Future is making a difference. Let's make sure this important program is authorized and fully funded, now and for years to come.

Please do all you can to support and strengthen proposals to authorize and fully fund Feed the Future. Bipartisan bills have been introduced in the House (H.R.5656) and the Senate (S.2909) to ensure sustained support for food security and agriculture that can help farmers around the world lift themselves out of poverty.
As your constituent, I write to you to ask you to support authorization and full funding for Feed the Future that includes strong provisions that help address critical barriers to food security and sustainable livelihoods including provisions that:
- Ensure alignment with citizen supported National Agriculture and Development plans;
- Empower women with tools and resources including access to credit and land;
- Assist farmers in natural resource management and adaptation to extreme weather;
- Address root causes of poverty and inequality including land policies that marginalize and exclude small scale producers.
Ending hunger and helping communities around the world lift themselves out of poverty are moral, economic, and national security issues. Please work to ensure that innovative and cost effective programs like Feed the Future are authorized and fully funded, now and for years to come.
