Make September 11 a National Recognition Day

We belive that September 11 should be a day of national recognition/appreciation for all emergency workers who risk their lives daily for each of us and to remember those who have lost their lives saving ours. This is a simple way to say "thank you" and show our appreciation for these special people.
We belive that September 11 should be a day of national recognition/appreciation for all emergency workers who risk their lives daily for each of us and to remember those who have lost their lives saving ours.

This is a simple way to say "thank you" and show our appreciation for these special people.

September 11, 2002 was a horrible tragedy, but also a huge awakening for all people who did not realize that this is an everyday job for all of the fire/police/rescue workers, many whom are volunteer workers. These are the people who will rescue us in our homes when we need emergency health services, the people who rescue our homes from fire, the people who respond when we have car accidents, etc. It is long overdue to set on day aside to acknowledge and thank these special people in our lives.

So on this day, June 26, 2002, the 911 Club is beginning a national petition in hopes to have everyone agree to having September 11 set aside as a national recognition and appreciation day for all emergency workers.

Our goal is to have September 11, a national recognition day by September 11, 2003. However, on September 11, 2002 for all of those signing and supporting this petition, we would like everyone to drive with their headlights on all day, in addition to stopping whatever you are doing at 12:00 noon and have a moment of silence.

Sincerely,
The Undersigned
